After a long wait, the prized caprine breeding stocks that Braveheart Farms acquired directly from the top US dairy goat breeders, including the multi-awarded Kastdemur's Dairy Goats farm in Redding, California, have finally arrived.

On top of the list is April 2008-born handsome Anglo Nubian buck kid, Kastdemur's Braveheart, which is out of 2005 American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) National Champion Lassenwood Miller Kalila.

Kastdemur's Braveheart, whose sire is Kastdemur's Beauxdacious, was named such following a request I made to Karen Senn, the Anglo-Nubian master breeder, who owns Kastdemur's along with her daughters, Krista and Erika.

Another Kastdemur Anglo Nubian buck kid, Kastdemur's Nobleheart, which is out of outstanding doe Kastdemur's Breeze, was also acquired along with two more buck kids out of Kastdemur's Mirassou, a young doe which traces its lineage on the dam side also to the National ADGA champion Lassenwood Miller Kalila.

For the La Manchas, I acquired from Kastdemur's a buck kid, Kastdemur's Survivor Panama, which is out of Kastdemur's Survivor, an ADGA National Champion for La Mancha.

Three La Mancha doelings from top does were also acquired namely: Kastdemur's Breaking News, Kastdemur's Citrillion and Kastdemur's Aquafina.

From Lakeshore Farms of Megan Tredway-Carter and the Tredway Family in Kelseyville, California, I acquired three Anglo Nubian buck kids - Lakeshore's Shadrack, Lakeshore's Tetrasana and Lakeshore's Rubik's Cube - along with a March 2008 born La Mancha buck kid from Aaron Carter, Heart-Mt.-Carter-Kids Nautica which has already won a junior championship in California before it was shipped to the Philippines.

Two young does, full sisters to Rubik's Cube - Lakeshore's Ruby Begonia and Ruby Red - were also acquired from Lakeshore.

Another young buck kid, a spotted Anglo Nubian which arrived in May from Oklahoma - Hills Acres' What A Bullion - that is out of the Hills Acres herd formerly owned by 2002 ADGA Anglo Nubian Breeder of the Year Teresa Wade, completes the magnificent young bucks that are now being prepared for mating next year when they will be crossed to the offsprings of the mature bucks that we have in the farm today.

With these outstanding young bucks being reserved for future breeder, other Filipino breeders of dairy goats can now be assured of a reliable source of outstanding breeding materials for the upgrading of their stocks.
