BRAVEHEART FARMS ACQUIRES TOP
LAKESHORE ANGLO NUBIAN BUCK
by: Vice Governor Manny Piņol  ÷  January 30, 2008

During a visit to the Lakeshore Farms that I and my family made last December, I asked Megan Tredway-Carter if she could help me find a good Anglo Nubian Buck to start with in my effort to establish a respectable dairy goat farm.

She responded by offering me Wild at Heart which I readily accepted having known the record of the buck while it was still being leased to Blissberry Nubians. Wild at Heart was chosen 2006 Premier Anglo Nubian Sire during the Minnesota State Fair where Sarah Koehn-Walberg brought her goats to show.

Wild at Heart's mom, SGCH Lakeshore Farms Ace of Hearts was named Best Nubian Udder at the 2003 American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA) National Show where she also placed 1st Place as a 2-year-old doe.

Wild at Heart's maternal sister, GCH Lakeshore Farms Hearts Extasia 1*M EX91 (VEEE), was 1st place Milking Yearling at the 2004 ADGA National Show, 6th Place 2-year-old in 2005 and 1st Place 3-Year-old in 2006. His sire, SG++*B Kastdemur's Final Justice, is a littermate brother to the 1999 ADGA National Champion, GCH Kastdemur's Crown Finale.

Here is what Blissberry Nubians, which used Wild at Heart as a sire for three years, has to say about this outstanding Anglo Nubian buck:

"Wild at Heart is tall and upstanding with smoothness of blending and length of body and levelness over the topline. He is also very dairy with shapness in the withers, openness of ribbing and flatness o bone.

"His first kids carry a great deal of balance and maturity for their age, strength and angulation to the rear legs, shapness in the front end with length and levelness across the topline. His first milking daughter, Blissberry Wild Antiquity 4*M, freshed with a beautiful mammary that is very desirable in shape with a strong overall area of attachment both fore and rear."

In addition to Wild at Heart, Megan also allowed me to acquire a handsome black buck, *B Lakeshore WFBT Jagged Edge who was born on March 2007 out of CH*B Wingwood Farm Blazin Tristar and GCH Lakeshore Farms Julie's Jaguar 3*M.

Jagged Edge, whom I saw as a buckling during our first visit to the Lakeshore Farms in October of 2007 is growing to be a very outstanding buck and his color allows us now to breed along the black lines.

His parentage is impressive. His father, Wingwood Tristar is 3X Grand Champion as a 2-Year-Old and 3X Best Buck in Show while his mom Julie's Jaguar, a black doe, is 2007 ADGA Reserve National Champion and ADGA Reserve National Best Udder.

With these two champion bucks to start our venture into the breeding of Anglo Nubians, Braveheart Farms expects to produce outstanding offsprings comparable to the best you could find anywhere in the country.

The acquisition of Wild At Heart and Jagged Edge is a testament to our commitment to breed only the best.

Lakeshore's Wild at Heart, the 2006 Best Anglo Nubian Buck of the Minnesota State Fair, has found a new home - the Philippines. The Braveheart Farms in Kidapawan City, North Cotabato to be exact.

After having been extensively used as herd sire for three years by top US Anglo Nubian breeder Sarah Koehn-Walberg of Blissberry Nubian Ranch in Minnesota, Wild at Heart, born April 2004 and an offspring of Kastdemur's Final Justice and Grand Champion Lakeshore's Ace of Hearts, Wild at Heart returned to Lakeshore Farms in Kelseyville, California late last year.
